working on my latest project, a 3d puzzle game with a humoristic vibe to it, its name will be Stockholm Syndrome Epidemic

i'm done creating all the models necessary for the first level and i'm just missing a few dialogues to have the whole story complete
honestly my hopes are to create something as optimized as possible to look like a professionally made game, unlike my other very cluncky projects, not sure how much i can hope to achieve that with 3d rad but its a nice challenge nonetheless

not feeling like creating a whole thread for this but does anyone know how to stop the 1st person camera from costantly getting stuck on rigidbodies? i'm trying a few methods but nothing seems to work
is it related to the models you think? or the camera?

i'm deciding i may start spending a few euros over this game since i want it to be appealing to the masses, so i hired an artist to redraw the characters and create a new cover since my own material sucks dicks

It's your turn with this wonderful bug that Fernando never solved in v7... AFAIK there's no real way of solving it with that object in particular. I think somebody made a scripted object that works better than the default object.

Hi TSD This problem usually is because of large polygon in what ever you get stuck in. Small or more polys works better and also improves lighting effects on mesh.
Most have been caught by this problem and most time it is caused by large polys.

The only solution I can find to this is creating your own custom FPS character with a rigidbody as the sphere.

You know you can connect the camera to the rigidbodies and mark them as avoid .. this is supose to stop the camera from penetrating which would cure getting stuck... buttttttt it doesn't work perfectly.. but cant hurt to try.

@tinsoldier, the problem here is the sphere of the FPS camera gets stuck on walls, not the camera itself.

I don't think it's a good idea to put all of your links to go through adfly. Especially the one for Patreon. You should give confidence to people to click on your link to Patreon.

Adfly is a deceptive site that tricks you into clicking wherever you don't want to, and pops annoying ads up your face. Yeah, it seems an easy way to earn money, but that's just $5 per 10 000 clicks (are you kidding me). Is it worth it?

I am not clicking on any of the links, nor do I encourage anyone to click on any link that goes through adfly...

i have a feeling that making movable platforms with velocity where you freely can walk on shouldn't be as hard as it is to me right now and that i'm probably just overlooking some really dumb detail

@timestopdev So you're saying you have an issue getting them working..

I have the solution, i created moving platform as an elevator in one of my projects, i can share the nitty gritty on the process, just give me some time to find the project and split out the needed parts and script.
I'll post here once it's ready.. Ohhh and you owe me $1K for this solution, you know inflation and all that 🔫 🚓

@timestopdev i find setting your rigidbody to -1 helps stability while moving.

Otherwise you'll see the how to in the script.

also i have a timer in there to auto flip-flop the platform to move up, then down and repeat, you can remove that, its just the script to move the rigidbody thats all you need to do the job.
