Yeah, i sort of find it a cool thing. Have issues with stability on the tracks, but i figured out why and have a design fix that should make this train rock solid, just need to export the new design and try it out.
Now if the new design works as planned, i'm thinking i wont give it away.......
ok i here's the source files, i think i got everything in there, if i'm missing something let me know. Just unzip this into your 3drad directory and all the parts will be installed.
I also included the 3dsmax source project using 3dmax R3
PS my fix didn't make the train rock solid.
I was trying to recreate a more realistic train with wheels and real world type collisions. These sort of work.... I'm aware i could fudge the design and use a pcar as the body, and add the train on top as a skinmesh, but that would be no fun...
I also added the 3 train cars that haven't been added to the project yet, my idea was to use a joint between cars to attach them all together.
Hi Tin looks like you are using RigidBody collision for track and train. I did this some time back and eventually abandon it because it was very hard to keep on the track and it shook around a lot. Took a lot of messing around to get it to work and that was only at slow speeds. My next thought was to setup some path system to have the train follow. n_iron
Yeah i considered a path too, but i really was trying to make a realistic design ( real world ) but the collisions are just a pain... I have come up with a new idea, but it's still fudging the design and not real world type at all.
