Canon PowerShot A550 problem

Hey guys... Belated Christmas Wishes and a Happy New Year to all of you!

I just recovered my old(more than 10 years old) camera Canon PowerShot A550, and I was excited,
capturing a lot of photographs, and when I tried to transfer them to my PC,
:'( . My PC couldn't recognize the device... I even tried with Windows XP, which was recommended in the manual, but that failed too...
I get this error: Code 43.
I checked for a fix in the Canon website, but didn't find it either...
I also reinstalled the drivers.
It reads that one of the devices connected has malfunctioned.

And also, @powersupersport, I think you could help me, as I know you have a Canon PowerShot A720 IS, which is pretty close to my model.

Thanks in advance guys...

Google tells me that this camera uses either an MMC or SD card for storing pictures on it. Have you tried to take it out and putting the card itself into the computer if it has a card reader?

Yes, I think you should try @drninkeo's suggestion as I don't even use USB transfer, I use the SD card

It should, as long as the card isn't corrupted or totally dead

it would work with the sd card but idk if it is any good these days, even a mobile camera would do better.

gamedev, I disagree with your opinion, it's not just about the Megapixels or focus, it's a lot more with lenses and filters... I personally think cameras work better for photographing as they are made for it... And I see that the camera that I use outsmarts my Redmi Note 3 and Coolpad(I forgot the model) which I was using earlier for photographs...

both coolpad and redmi note 3s have bad cameras, even though coolpad has a dual camera because they are budget smart phones their purpose is to do more than just take pictures.

if you take a camera which wasn't very good even when it came out, they are no match for the new gen mobile phones,

of course, a camera is better for photography but trying to fix and using an old camera instead of using something better is not very intelligent.

Look,  I'm not looking to have an argument here...  If you know what I'm talking about,  I saw some REAL potential in that camera..  BTW,  I am gonna buy a camera next year,  so I kinda use this to train myself...

Looking forward to great many photos by you Power... You are one hell of a designer.
Seriously, you have that talent that people from Adobe, Google, etc. have. At least in my opinion... Keep going!

I see the same for you too. You've improved a lot, I still remember that you wanted your art on the wallpapers section. Just wait until I get that working here too

Oh, you're pretty encouraging... Yeah, I remember that image... So stupid(2048x2048) And when I recently looked up on it, I felt like "WTH!". I consider you as a genuine artist...

have you considered or tried to replace the cable. and i assume a card reader didnt work or you havent tried ?

Maybe google for forums that support that camera, maybe it's just the driver that needs to be updated.

But, could be the camera its self... maybe visit a flea market, you mite find someone selling that camera real cheap and it could still work with your cameras card and or cable.

Omg how ironic. I just got that camera myself. It's a good camera, but takes crappy video. I tried to install CHDK, but I my Menu and Display buttons don't work.
